As a pioneer of illustrators/graphic designers, Yumeji Takehisa continues to have a great influence on the girls’ culture of today.
Paying homage to Yumeji, various artists including those of Shibuya Girls Pop who respect and are influenced by him will exhibit their work at Yumeji Café Minatoya.
The theme of the exhibition is “Fashion in the Taisho Period – Yamato Nadeshiko/Modern Girls 2017.”
By connecting Yumeji Takehisa and Taisho Roman with the modern artists, the exhibition will reaffirm the greatness of Yumeji and show how he had influence on and brought a new dimension to the participating artists. We hope it will be an interesting and culturally meaningful exhibition to you!
Please enjoy the illustrations drawn by the unique artists in their own way while paying homage to Yumeji, along with Yumeji Exhibition* that will be held concurrently at the museum!Exhibition in homage to Yumeji Takehisa Fashion in the Taisho period drawn by the artists of Shibuya Girls Pop - Yamato Nadeshiko/Modern Girls 2017 - ● Participating artists Ai ☆ Madonna Kira Imai eimi Rei Kato Shikimi Hiroyukimitsume Takahashi Yuki Takahashi Chikuwamiel Nico Nekosuke ● Place Yumeji Café Minatoya (within Yumeji Takehisa Museum) ○ No admission fee (Admission is permitted to café users only) ○ Open from 10:00 to 17:30 ○ Closed on Mondays (excluding May 1) ● Period of exhibition April 1 (Sat.) – June 25 (Sun.) ● Organizer Yumeji Takehisa Museum x Shibuya Girls Pop ● Goods sales Special goods for the exhibition will be produced/sold. ● Website http://shibuya-gp.jp/yumeji-hommage/ * Concurrent exhibition Fashion in the Taisho period drawn by Yumeji From Yamato Nadeshiko to modern girls ● Place Yumeji Takehisa Museum ○ Admission fee: Adults 900 yen, College/senior high school students 800 yen, Junior high/elementary school students 400 yen * Admission to Yayoi Museum is also permitted. * A 100-yen discount per person applies to groups of 20 or more. ○ Open from 10:00 to 17:30 ○ Closed on Mondays (excluding May 1) ●Period of exhibition April 1 (Sat.) – June 25 (Sun.) ● Website http://www.yayoi-yumeji-museum.jp/
