2019年京都造形芸術大学大学院芸術専攻ペインティング領域修了。
関係や気配、存在の痕跡というテーマで絵画を制作。
その署名的絵画シリーズ「21g」では、画面全体が「窓」として想定され、結露したガラスの表面に何者かが触れた痕跡が残されている。神秘的、あるいは超自然的な現象に関心があるという彼女は、ホラー映画の一場面を連想させるような画面を創出させ、そこに見えない何者かの気配、不確かな存在を浮き上がらせている。
Graduated the master’s course at Kyoto University of Art and Design graduate school of Art Major, Art and Design Studies in 2019.
Kotani’s paintings mention relationships and what there was. In Kurumi Kotani’s signature series 21g the entire surface is treated like a “window,” and on the glass with condensation are traces of someone. Kotani, who is interested in the mystical or supernatural phenomenon, creates an image that reminds us of horror movies and indicates the presence of something unsure.
