Basic shapes have been apparent in my works, including my graphic design works. The push and pull between the rigid and the abstract have always fascinated me. I often found myself to be ‘voluntarily’ dictated on what is and isn’t acceptable by society. And at some point, personally, there is so little space for me to reflect and be honest with myself on what happiness meant for me. As I grew, I developed a difficulty to verbally express myself. This has pushed me into anxiety. Creating artwork through a composition of geometric objects to me is visual therapy. Through music & the abstraction form, I can channel the suppressed emotion that I can’t express through words.

I was born in 1987, and my attraction to the visual arts began when my late father introduced me to coloring tools on tedious trips to relatives’ houses. That’s when I started to use visuals as a way to communicate my inner thoughts. This has greatly influenced me to take the graphic design major at University and work as a graphic designer. Currently, I am mixing graphic design with textile design to create experimental wearable art.
